Theme: God’s timeless nature.
The Bible opens with “In the beginning, God…” (Genesis 1:1). Before creation, before time itself, the Eternal One already existed. Unlike humanity, bound by time and decay, God is everlasting: “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting You are God” (Psalm 90:2).
This truth anchors our faith. Everything in this world fades, but the Eternal One never changes. His eternity assures us that His promises will stand and His reign has no end.
Theme: The Eternal takes on flesh.
The Eternal One entered human history in the person of Jesus Christ. John writes, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). Later he declares, “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:14).
In Jesus, the Eternal stepped into time to redeem us. His death was real and in history, yet His resurrection points us back to eternity. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end (Revelation 22:13). Through Christ, believers share in eternal life with God.
Theme: Setting our hearts on what lasts.
So much of our daily life is consumed by what is passing—possessions, achievements, even struggles. Paul reminds us: “For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18).
The Eternal One calls us to lift our eyes beyond the temporary and anchor our hope in Him. When we live for the Eternal, we are freed from fear of loss and empowered to live with eternal purpose. The world may crumble, but God’s kingdom endures forever.
Theme: Practical discipleship and hope.
To believe in the Eternal One is to live with eternal perspective. This changes how we face trials, how we handle resources, and how we measure success.
Practical responses include:
Because we belong to the Eternal One, we can live today with peace, courage, and joy that no circumstance can steal.
